Teen Drug Testing
The purpose of Teen Drug Testing by parents is not, as most might assume, a punitive measure. Typically parents who choose our Teen Drug Testing service are concerned for their children’s welfare. The situation often represents an opportunity for substantive communication between parent and teen if it is approached not as a punishment, or
accusation, but as a way for both parents and teens to better understand how the teens must cope with the changing pressures of today’s modern society. Ironically, parents often find that confessions come from their teens on the way to the Drug Testing Center to deliver results, providing a unique opportunity for open and honest communication.
The Process
If a parent believes that his or her child is using or abusing drugs or alcohol, the parent can simply bring their teen into our Drug Testing facility and we will perform the necessary drug tests. Teen Drug Testing is safe, confidential and performed in a secured testing environment. If the drug test is negative we will provide a copy of the Teen Drug Testing results to the parent. If the drug test is positive it can be sent to a testing lab certified by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) for further testing. Once sent to the lab for testing it will usually take 2 to 3 days.
In-Home Testing
Parents can also purchase home Teen Drug Testing Kits from C-DAT for in-home use. These drug tests are easy to administer. Home Teen Drug Testing consists of urine sample testing for Drugs normally detected through this method, such as marijuana, opiates, cocaine, amphetamines and PCP. These drugs remain in the body for a longer amount of time than alcohol.
Court Ordered Drug Testing
There is no substitute for quality, this is why using our accredited laboratory for your court testing purposes is an absolute must. We know that every case and every person is different that is why we don’t offer a “one-size fits all” testing solution – no cookie cutter tests here. Simply name the substance or substances you need to have tested and we’ll offer you the solution.
Commonly used mediums for court testing are:
Hair Follicle Testing – With only 1.5 inches of head hair our laboratory can detect substance abuse up to 90 days.
Urine Drug Screening – Being confident that an individual has sustained sobriety is imperative in any court case. On-going screening can detect recent use as well as be an extremely effective tool in ensuring there is no relapse.
As an added layer of integrity any urine drug screen can be mandated to be observed by a same sex technician in our clinic. This eliminates concerns of cheating by substituting or adulterating a sample.
Commonly tested panels for court are:
5 Panel – Amphetamines, Cocaine, Opiates, THC, and PCP
10 Panel – 5 Panel plus: Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Methadone, Methaqualone, and
Propoxyphene
Alcohol – Up to 80-hour detection through our ETG/ETS urine screen
